An explanation
So after much consideration and planning, I have resigned from my (4 1/2 year long) position as Development Director at the Arts Council of Princeton, and will join Bo on a six-month sabbattical to Copenhagen. After that, who knows.
But for now, I feel like I am taking a "gap year" in much the same way Emma is doing between high school and college. Already it feels like a useful palate cleanser. We're organizing the house for the renters, giving away mountains of old clothes and used books, and looking ahead to some months of cultural tourism, time for reading and writing, and (no doubt) some excellent food. I have always admired how the artists in my acquaintance thoughtfully "curate" their days; they are mindful of preserving time for themselves and their creative pursuits in balance with friends and fun and time outdoors.
So that's the deal. I am looking up from my keyboard before another 10 years washes over my life. I will try to keep track of the more interesting bits along the way.
